Golley Slater has been appointed to deliver the integrated campaign for The RBS Caledonian Challenge, 2007.

The RBS Caledonian Challenge is one of Scotland’s largest fundraising endurance events, challenging teams of between three to six people to walk 54 miles along the West Highland Way, non-stop, over a 24 hour period, to raise money for Scottish grass roots charities and community groups.

The event, which had 1,500 participants in 2006, is one of Scotland’s largest corporate fundraising events, with 70 percent of participants each year coming from the financial, property, accountancy, media, recruitment and legal sectors from across the UK.

Golley Slater provided the marketing for the event in 2006 and this year has been appointed to handle the PR as well as Marketing services this year.

Ian Dommett, Managing Director of Golley Slater Edinburgh said: “Since it was founded in 1997, The RBS Caledonian Challenge has raised over £7 million, benefiting local communities and charities across Scotland through Scottish Community Foundation grants. The fundraising aspect however, is only one part of the story. The physical and mental challenge that the event represents is what attracts so many teams from the UK and international corporate communities to take part, including big names like RBS, AXA and Norwich Union".

"Having marketed the event last year, we are delighted to now have won the PR contract as well to deliver a fully integrated campaign for the RBS Caledonian Challenge in 2007".
