The role

We’re looking for a confident and capable HR professional to join our People team as an HR Advisor. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with solid HR experience who’s ready to take ownership, bring fresh thinking, and help shape how we do things in a growing, employee-owned SME.

You’ll be joining a small, ambitious team at a time of change and growth. We’re looking for someone who values good process and knows how to work with it, but who’s also curious, proactive, and ready to suggest better ways of doing things. If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real impact and put your own mark on things, this is it.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Providing support for managers, giving clear and practical advice on day‑to‑day HR queries and employee lifecycle processes such as onboarding, absence, and probation.

  • Supporting employee relations activity, including informal performance, absence, and conduct matters, with guidance and oversight from the Head of People.

  • Assisting with the planning, coordination, and delivery of learning and development activities in line with the L&D plan set by the Head of People.

  • Producing regular people data reports and supporting the effective use and continuous improvement of HR systems and processes.

  • Contributing to wellbeing, inclusion, and sustainability initiatives, such as Disability Confident, B Corp commitments, and community care days.

  • Working closely with the Senior HR Coordinator to ensure smooth onboarding, contract changes, and payroll processes, with a strong focus on accuracy and employee experience.

What we’re looking for

  • Solid experience in an HR or people-focused role (e.g. HR Assistant, HR Coordinator, or HR Officer), ideally in a fast-paced or values-led environment.

  • A good working knowledge of HR processes and UK employment law.

  • Someone who’s not afraid to ask questions, suggest improvements, and challenge the status quo.

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.

  • Comfortable working with data and systems (we use Staffology and Microsoft 365).

  • A team player who’s keen to learn, contribute ideas, and help us grow.

  • CIPD Level 3 or 5 (or working towards) is desirable.

Why join us?

We’re an employee-owned business with a strong sense of purpose and a commitment to doing things differently. You’ll be joining a small, friendly People team where your ideas will be valued and your development supported. We offer hybrid working, a collaborative culture, and the chance to make a real impact as we grow.

We welcome applications from both internal and external candidates and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can do their best work.
