The opportunity

Are you curious about what it’s like to work in a vibrant marketing communications agency? Want to build real-world experience? We’ve got just the opportunity for you.

We’re offering a four-week, paid summer internship at Golley Slater in the heart of Cardiff. You’ll join our Advertising and PR Account Handling team, giving you the chance to really get stuck into the areas where big ideas, bold storytelling and standout campaigns come to life.

Over the course of the internship, your time will be primarily focused on:

  • PR & social media – learn how we build brands, spark conversations and generate coverage and engagement.

  • Advertising – learn how eye-catching campaigns are developed and delivered, working with clients and collaborating with creative and media teams across multiple channels.

Alongside this, there will also be opportunities to gain exposure to other disciplines across the agency, shaped around your interests and curiosity. This may include:

  • Strategy – understanding how insights and audience data guide strong creative.

  • Production – seeing how ideas become reality, arranging resource and shoots.

  • Creative (design & video) – learning how visuals and storytelling work hand-in-hand.

  • Media – getting a feel for how campaigns are planned, booked and amplified.

For the right person, there may also be the potential opportunity to move into a full-time role at Golley Slater following the internship.

What makes a good fit

We’re not looking for polished CVs or fancy cover letters. We’re looking for curious, creative, and enthusiastic people who are excited by the idea of getting stuck into the world of advertising and PR.

You don’t need a background or degree in marketing, communications or media. You’ll be a great fit for this internship if you are someone who:

  • Is a strong writer and clear communicator.

  • Has a passion for storytelling and ideas.

  • Takes a genuine interest in media, culture and social platforms.

  • Is proactive, curious and eager to learn.

  • Has a sharp eye for detail.
