The power of learning

Challenge
Bringing all stakeholders on board for the development of a new organisational brand required a comprehensive and inclusive approach. Internal and external stakeholders needed to be actively engaged to ensure their perspectives were heard. This involved a detailed consultation process, combining qualitative and quantitative research methods. Leadership interviews, external stakeholder focus groups, and a staff engagement workshop were conducted, along with an internal survey, to capture and incorporate feedback from every corner of the organisation.

Insights gathered from the stakeholder engagement process were instrumental in shaping the new brand. Collaborative workshops helped define the organisation’s purpose, values, and tone of voice, leading to the creation of a Welsh-first name, Medr, and a unique brand identity that included a new logo, colour palette, and typography. To ensure consistency moving forward, brand and style guides were developed, alongside templates to support clear and cohesive communication with all stakeholders.

Results
This collaborative process led to the creation of a trusted, inspiring brand that the entire post-16 sector could rally behind. Medr now embodies the excitement surrounding the new Commission’s vision while galvanising both external stakeholders and internal teams to embrace the change.
