The Challenge:

In 2015 Sheffield Hallam University were awarded the highest Skills Funding Agency allocation to support degree apprenticeship delivery.

Apprenticeships were a completely new programme from the established provision, and therefore a new approach to engaging employers was required.

With the apprenticeship levy on the horizon coupled with the funding allocation, there was a unique opportunity to be market leading, but that was only if the university could operationalise quickly.

The Golley Slater Solution:

A pilot was initiated which would test whether the Golley Slater approach could support the employer engagement team to increase higher and degree product awareness, as well as the number of new employers engaged, and facilitate enrolments onto the newly designed programme. At the end of the pilot, the pipeline was incredibly healthy and volumes for September enrolment were lined up.

Golley Slater have been working with Sheffield Hallam University since to support in all areas of B2B product marketing, across channels including, digital, email, events and of course, telephony.

The Results:

  • Introduced to 700 new employers
  • £5m+ in new degree apprenticeship revenue
  • A campaign ROI of 15:1
