The Challenge:

Having worked with Golley Slater at previous college, the leadership team knew that the employer engagement strategy needed some work to meet the changes that were taking place across the sector. The college already had a relationship with a local telemarketing agency, however, they wanted to gain better insight and intelligence on the potential apprenticeship employer market, along with building a quality sales pipeline.


The Golley Slater Solution:

An initial five-month pilot was initiated which would test whether the Golley Slater approach could support the employer engagement team to generate more conversions and provide a return on investment. The pilot was a success and West Suffolk College have been a partner ever since. Today, targeted direct communications to prospects including email, SMS and direct mail, are followed up and nurtured before handing over qualified sales leads to the employer engagement team in the field.


The Results: 

  • Introduced to 800 new employers
  • £1.5m in new apprenticeship revenue
  • A campaign ROI of 7:1
