CES 2025: Where the Future  of Consumer Everything Unfolds

Hero Image

The new year kicks off with another CES! A time when Las Vegas becomes a playground for the newest tech. The annual event is officially called CES the Consumer Electronics Show, but this year everyone’s calling it the “Consumer Everything Show”! Because it’s the future of, well, everything!

From cars that fly (seriously!) to fridges that can cook a perfect steak, CES 2025 was a whirlwind of innovation with over 3,500 exhibiting companies.

In the world of FMCG, it’s fascinating to me identifing the common trends that ultimately influence consumers, becoming the mainstream innovations we see everyday, so what did everyone get excited about?

The 2025 CES key trends

Honestly, it’s difficult to identify just a few key trends as the show reflects so many aspects of our lives with every sector represented from automotive, health tech, extended reality, and wearables. But if I were to summarise these are the collective areas of focus:

  • Artificial intelligence
  • Smart glasses
  • Sustainability
  • Health & wellbeing
  • Robotics

As a creative with a passion for tech, here are a few things that got my brain buzzing.

Mind-Blowing Tech

  • NVIDIA blew everyone away with new RTX 50-series graphics cards and AI mini supercomputer called ‘Project Digits’. As a gamer, NVIDIA stuck to its gaming roots. But showcased it will be the AI brain for researchers, scientists and students for every type of breakthrough.
  • Sony, created a panoramic TV room where they pumped in smells to match what was happening on screen during The Last of Us. Imagine the possibilities for immersive storytelling and brand experiences!
  • Xreal’s new AR glasses stole the show in the augmented reality space. With a brighter, wider displays, and a camera attachment for capturing all the action. These discrete AR glasses are becoming the future we all imagined!
  • Lenovo revealed a rollable laptop! Yep, you read that right. The screen expands at the push of a button. Perfect for switching between spreadsheets & Tiktok!
  • Roborock unveiled a robot vacuum cleaner with a robotic arm designed to pick up clutter. No more socks getting in the way! There were lots of examples of this type of robot, with multi-tasking abilities.
  • The Hyve smart delivery pod is a low-tech approach with a simple design and a focus on security & sustainability. Designed to hold all those home deliveries this smart locker can generate codes for delivery services to use.

Innovations for the Beauty & Wellbeing Obsessed

  • Amazfit unveiled the V1tal, a little gadget that records you eating and then automatically logs your food and nutritional info. Imagine the potential for FMCG brands to partner with Amazfit and create personalised experiences around nutrition and healthy eating.
  • L’Oreal showed off an AI-powered skin analysis system called the Cell BioPrint. It uses bio tape samples from your skin to create a personalised skincare routine.
  • Tombot showcased a new robot therapy dog designed to help relieve anxiety and provide comfort to dementia patients. The robot mimics real canine behaviour and features touch sensors for cuddles. This was one example of emotional therapy offered by AI.

CES 2025 showed us that the future is all about personalisation, seamless integration, and experiences that blur the lines between the physical and digital. As marketers, we need to be thinking about how the future will influence the communication and activation  of our campaigns. So they are truly innovative, immersive, and engaging. The future is now!
