In early 2016, Golley Slater received a PR brief to support the collaboration between Brains and The Stereophonics, who had joined up to create a new, seasonal ale.
We launched a dedicated media relations campaign targeting national news and trade media, and coordinated photography and video of the band tasting the beer for use across Brains’ social media channels. Our activity resulted in 13 pieces of regional and national coverage – and the Wales Online article received 3,524 shares.
Later in 2016, Golley Slater was briefed to prepare a launch press release and media preview event for the opening of The Dock bar & kitchen in Cardiff Bay (formerly Terra Nova) following a £1.5m refurbishment.
We issued a launch press release to key Welsh media, but not before we had invited Wales Online for an exclusive ‘first look’. Wider media and a handpicked selection of key bloggers were then invited to a launch event, which included a boat trip which ‘docked’ right outside the venue, and an opportunity to try a wide variety of dishes from the menu. Our activity resulted in 12 pieces of positive coverage across 10 Welsh media outlets, and in the first eight months, more than 7,000 people have used Facebook to ‘check-in’ at The Dock.
